Iris van Herpen (the Great) X United Nude (the fab)

My blog is going to be a bit over-run with shoes for a while I'm afraid. Well, actually, I'm not afraid, I absolutely LOVE shoes. When we all found out Carrie Bradshaw's online name was 'Shoe Gal' I have to admit I shamelessly changed mine to 'Shoe Guy'. Sad, I know, but my shoe obsession parallels Carries (I bought three pairs of Louboutins for Christ's sake!). So, in the good name of shoes, here's the first...

You might have read this post about the wonders that are United Nude's creations. A women getting off the train had the most intriguing pair of their heels on, the ones with the silver architectural heel, and stopping to ask where they were from, she revealed United Nude.

Jump back to last season's Fashion Week where Iris van Herpen caused a stir with her ultra-amaze 'Synesthesia' collection which included 3-D shapes, delicate wired pieces and, more importantly, her rather incredible hoof shoes.

I think we all let out a teeny gasp when we spotted the shoes, especially when we saw the male model strut his stuff in the heels. And now we can all gasp that gasp once again. United Nude have teamed up with the super-designer to release a limited edition of the shoe, I just hope they come in a size 11!

The van Herpen X United Nude booties will come in black and gold and ivory and gold. Only 240 pairs have been made world wide, 168 of the black and 72 of the ivory. If you manage to grab hold of a pair, you should be very proud of yourselves! Each pair is handmade and distinctly recognizable by the gold leather detail on the front and back. In short... the perfect pair of heels ladies!

They will be available at the United Nude flagship in Amsterdam, New York, Shanghai and Vienna and will set you back $1,295. I have also just been told that Browns are going to be stocking a few pairs for all those shoe-istas in London (they will hit stores in September as far as I believe).

What an exciting collaboration! I'm gonna be heading to Browns just to coo over them. Anyone want to join me??

Today I'm loving...

FOR THE BOYS...

I stumbled across these insanely gorgeous printed shirts by the fab Martine Rose on www.oki-ni.com. This first one is my favourite, but I think I might pur-chase all three! Wear them semi-smart with jeans or inject some interest into a plain black suit. YUM!

£229
£225

£229

Embrace the 80s with these super-bright new limited edition Hi-Tec trainers exclusive to New Look (£40). They come in three styles, with just 48 pairs of each made. They'll be available at the end of March at the Oxford Street store or online at www.newlook.com. All you need is a shell suit and you're sorted. (I wonder when the shell suit will rear it's (ugly) head again?!)

FOR THE GIRLS...

Holly Fulton is my favourite UK designer at the moment (if only she did a menswear range!) and this is one of the exclusive Holly Fulton for ASOS dresses that she has designed - so now you can get a slice of the Fulton action for a fraction of the price. It's £85 and available now on www.asos.com

Or if you feel like splashing out on one of her original, amazing geometric cum art deco designs then click onto www.brownsfashion.com where you will find, among others, this orange number (£705) and the fun Chrysler building necklace (£245).
